BSCA Versatility Program Requirements
Requirements
- Dogs must qualify per the AKC definition of the event, in two of the four AKC performance events - Regular/Rally Obedience, Tracking, Herding or Agility.
- Dogs must participate in, and be able to qualify in, a regular, non regular or sweepstakes confirmation class.
- Dogs that are "excused" or "disqualified" from participation in any event, not including normal "non-qualifying scores" in performance events will be disallowed/excused from further Versatility Award competition and participation for that years award.
- Performance event points
- Passing VST, Utility, TDX, Herding Advanced or Agility Excellent - 25 pts
- Passing TD, Open Obedience, Herding Intermediate, Agility Open, Agility Preferred Excellent - 20 pts
- Passing Novice Obedience, Herding Started, Agility Novice, Agility Preferred Open,Rally Excellent (RE) - 15 pts
- Passing Herding Pre-trial (PT), Agility Preferred Novice, rally Advanced (RA) - 10 pts
- Passing Herding Test (HT), Rally Novice (RN) - 5 pts
- Ties will be broken by
- Dogs that qualify for all four categories (as listed in #1 above) regardless of level, except that passing the HT shall not count for the tiebreaker.
- Highest qualifying class(es) based on the above ranking.
- Highest score - Herding Trial score, ½ obedience score, TD-85 points, PT-60pts.
Versatility Award Trophy
A 9x12 Wooden Plaque that is to be awarded to the winner and kept for one year and to be returned to the club PRIOR to the following year's National Specialty.
The owner is responsible for having their dog's name engraved on the revolving trophy. It is to be placed for display in the Hospitality Room at each National Specialty along with forms for each participant to fill out on their dog and update as the week progresses by posting their scores, qualifying or non qualifying or info on the events they are entered in. It will be awarded to the winner at the BSCA National Specialty Banquet.
