Herding Instinct Testing:

Herding Instinct Testing will be held at Dixie's Animal Training facility on Wednesday, April 12th between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. Both pre-entries and day of entries are welcomed, but priority will be given to pre-entrants as the number of tests available is limited.

Tester(s): The primary tester will be Terri Wilson, an AKC and AHBA judge. She has extensive herding experience with Tervs and many other breeds. Terri is also providing the stock and stockhandlers, so if there is a demand for more than 30 tests throughout the day, some additional testers will be needed to handle the additional load and provide some breaks for the primary tester.

Stock: Stock will be 3 to 5 head of Boer/Boer Cross goats.

Entries: Pre entries ($40; make checks out to BSCA) will be solicited in the Specialty Brochure package and are strongly encouraged as pre entries will be given priority in assignment to a testing period. Instinct pre entries will close at the same time as entries close for the herding trials. All pre entries will be logged in and assigned a priority number based on the receipt at the testing chairperson's home address. Entrants will be notified of their assigned priority number by 1 April. Any pre entries that are present at the herding site on Wednesday during testing hours and not afforded a testing opportunity will have their entries/checks returned by the instinct testing chairman that day (Wednesday) at the site or the following AM at the Host Hotel Hospitality room. Walk-on entries ($50, cash or check made out to BSCA) the day of the test will be allowed only if testing schedule and tester availability permits. In no case will testing exceed fifty (50) tests.
